Roland Arries, “Bob” 73, of rural Augusta, passed away very peacefully early Friday morning, Nov. 1, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Bob was born Feb. 22, 1940 in Augusta to Rodney and Florence (Roach) Arries. He was raised in Augusta, where he graduated from Augusta High School in 1958. During his adult life he had lived in Kenosha, in 1983 he moved to Arizona, and since 1986 had made his home on the Dells Pond, rural Augusta. Before retiring in 2005 he was working as a tool and cutter grinder for Ashley Industries. Bob enjoyed living on the pond, fishing and watching the birds.
He is survived by his son, Robert Arries of Augusta; 2 daughters, Kimberly Arries of Phoenix, AZ, Rhonda Arries of Madison; 2 granddaughters, Justine and Saige Arries; brother, Richard (Pamela) Arries of Simpsonville, S.C.; and Nilla his buddy and faithful yellow lab. He was preceded in death by his father on June 6, 1994, his mother on March 14, 2002 and siblings, Dawn and Michael. Private family services will be held at a later date. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful doctors at Sacred Heart Hospital, the dialysis team on the 8th. floor and the hospital staff for the excellent care and loving support Bob was given during his illness. Your professionalism and kindness will never be forgotten.
