Richard “Dick” Berry age 79, of Stevens Point, formerly of Augusta passed away November 21, 2013 in Stevens Point. Dick has been in ill health since August of 2012.
Friends and family will gather to share memories from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM on Tuesday November 26 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Burial with services will be at the West Lawn Cemetery after the visitation.
Dick was born March 30, 1934 in Augusta, the son of Clarence and Orofino (Howe) Berry. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1951. Dick married Muriel Kirkham on April 5, 1953 at the Augusta Methodist Church. The couple lived briefly in Eau Claire and Illinois before returning to Augusta where they owned and operated their farm for close to 30 years. The couple moved to Stevens Point in 1984, and Dick worked for Tatro Irrigation and Potato Company until retiring in 1999. He enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking, but most of all loved his family and time spent together.
Dick is survived by his wife Muriel and their 5 children: Debra Berry, Eau Claire; Rick (Angie) Berry, Pardeville; John (Peggy) Berry, St. Cloud, MN; DeeAnn (Karl) Gustum, Chippewa Falls; Kelly Herring, Stevens Point. 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson. His brother Fred (Rita) Berry, Oconomowoc.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Johnny, 2 infant great-grandchildren, and his brother Clarence.
