Robert G. Christenson, 52, of Boyceville, formerly of Prairie Farm, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at the Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home after a long courageous battle with cancer and in the care of Mayo Clinic Hospice.
Bob was born Aug. 21, 1960 in Amery and raised in Prairie Farm, where he graduated from high school in 1978. While in high school Bob excelled in football, basketball and baseball. After high school Bob joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a munitions specialist in Korea. After his service time he returned home to be with his mother in Prairie Farm, before moving to Boyceville. Through the years he had driven truck for Millis of Black River Falls, worked at the Menard’s Distribution Center and for CEVA Logistics in Menomonie. Bob was an avid sports fan and couldn’t wait to watch the Packer games with his two boys. Bob also enjoyed sitting around a campfire, going fishing with daughter Jessica and bowling with Stacey. He had pleasurable memories drinking beers with his brother, and choose to forget his one horrible canoe trip when everything that could go wrong did. When asked of his greatest memory, it was of his times spent with children and family. Revelation 7:17 For the lamb at the center of the throne will be their Shepard; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Bob was baptized on Aug. 8, 1961 and confirmed on April 27, 1975 at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm.
Bob is survived by 4 children and 2 grandchildren, daughter Jessica (Dave) Hall, their son, Wakiza, of Nevada, Jennifer (Scott) Okerson and their daughter, Gracie of Montana; twin sons, Levi Robert and Tyler Raymond Christenson of Fall Creek; the boys mother Lesa Raether, step-siblings, Sarah (Josh) Kaeding, Eric (Nikki) Raether, Stacey (Pat) Raether all of Fall Creek; brother, Dennis (Mari) Christenson of Virginia, Janice (Dick) Stepp of Colorado, Mike Christenson of Prairie Farm; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Edna and Lester Rye, brother Larry Christenson and nephew Travis Christenson.
