Adeline R. Horel, 82, of Augusta, passed away Saturday at the Fall Creek Valley Care Center.
Adeline Ruth Horel, daughter of Robert and Emma (Flaig) Kelly was born May 14, 1931 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
She was raised in Stevens Point where she was baptized, confirmed and graduated from P.J. High School. She was united in marriage to Dr. John "Jack" Horel on July 23, 1952 in Eau Claire. The couple lived all their married life in Augusta, where Adeline helped in the office of her husband's veterinary practice. Adeline was dedicated to her family, church and community. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, serving on the prayer chain and with its ladies society. She had been a member of the Augusta Women's Club, Augusta Nursing Home Auxiliary, on the Beautify Augusta Committee and met with the Augusta Friends of the Library. She enjoyed the numerous hours she spent walking and reading, socializing with friends, but especially the time spent with her two grandchildren.
Adeline will be missed by her two sons, Harvey and Diane Horel and Todd and Jill Horel all of Augusta; two grandchildren, Reggie Horel and Brock Horel, both of Augusta; four stepchildren and their families, Thomas and Kayleen Horel of Osseo, Charles and Mary Kay Horel of Meridian, ID, Melanie King of Eudora, KS, Jacqueline and Scott Kirk of Plymouth, MN; brother, LeRoy Kelly of Chicago, IL; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; seven sisters; and husband, Jack on Dec. 16, 1997.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
