Du Wane “Dean” Leslin 70, of rural Fall Creek, passed Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, surrounded by and in the comfort of his family.
DuWane A. Leslin, son of DuWane and Martha (Olson) Leslin was born in Bemidji, MN, on Nov. 2, 1942. As a child he was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. As a child his family moved to California before moving to Belvedere, Il, where he graduated from high school in 1960. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served at several stateside bases. After he was honorably discharged he returned to Belvedere where he was united in marriage to Vicki Buse on June 10, 1967. While in Belvedere he was employed at the Chrysler Plant . In 1974 he moved his family to Wisconsin, first to Northfield and 2 years later to rural Fall Creek. For over 10 years, DuWane had worked at Waste Research in Eau Claire, before owning and operating Leslin Electric. DuWane’s favorite pastimes included fishing, camping, watching drag races and reading.
He will be deeply missed by Vicki, his wife of 46 years; 2 sons, Brian and Stacey Leslin of Augusta; Ryan Leslin of Fall Creek; grandchildren, Cashton and Kayci Leslin of Augusta; 2 brothers, Richard (Sheila) Leslin and Jack (Susan) Leslin all of Rockford, IL; stepmother-in-law, Jackie Buse of Augusta; sister-in-law, Nancy Buse of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery, both in Augusta. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
