Gordy Luedtke
Gordon C. Luedtke, 81, formerly of Ludington Township, rural Augusta, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire. 
Gordon Charles, son of Charles and Avada (Kuhl) Luedtke was born August 23, 1931. 
 

Gordon was raised in Ludington Township, where he was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and attended White Country School. In 1950, he graduated from Augusta High School. From Feb. of 1951 until 1953, he served with the United States Army in Korea, with Company E 17th. Infantry Regiment, 7th. Infantry Division. When he was honorably discharged he returned to Wisconsin and worked for a time with his brother in Beloit. He then returned to Ludington where he was united in marriage to Colleen Boyea on Aug. 4, 1956 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The couple lived all their married life in Ludington. Gordy had worked a short period of time for Eau Claire County Highway Department and Senn Blacktop, before starting his employment with Wissota Sand and Gravel, where he operated heavy construction equipment. He worked at this position until ill health forced his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Local 139, International Union of Operating Engineers. Before Gordon was stricken with Parkinson’s Disease he enjoyed snowmobiling and gardening. Due to his illness he had lived in assisted living in Cadott and Eau Claire, at the Fall Creek and Augusta Nursing Homes and since July of 2006, he had been a resident of the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation.  

Gordy is survived by his 2 daughters, Jennifer Luedtke (Steve Wheeler) of Chippewa Falls, Amy Luedtke (Chad Snyder) of Minneapolis, MN; son, Charles (Chris) Luedtke of Elk Mound; 3 grandchildren, Kate Wheeler, Logan and Raegan Luedtke; brother, Harry (Carla) Luedtke of Augusta; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen on Oct. 22, 2000, father, Charles on March 21, 1985, mother, Avada on Oct. 14, 2007, and brother, Howard on July 27, 1952.  
Memorial services will be held Friday, April 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington, with Pastor Cal Siegel officiating. Burial will be in the Ludington Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Friday at the church. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Wisconsin Parkinson’s Association.
