Pearl Matysik
Pearl B. Matysik, 92, formerly of Brackett, passed away at the Fall Creek Valley Care Center, Wednesday morning, Feb. 13, 2013.

Pearl Bertha Matysik, daughter of Roy and Clara (Hoehn) Henning, was born October 23, 1920 in Cleghorn, Wisconsin. She attended grade school in Foster and graduated from Eau Claire High School. On June 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Bernard Matysik in Eau Claire.

The couple lived most of their married life in Brackett until 2000, when they moved to Wonder Haven Apartments in Fall Creek. Due to failing health, Pearl and Bernard entered the Fall Creek Valley Care Center on October 4, 2011. For many years Pearl had worked as a clerk at Edwin's in Eau Claire, where they sold women's apparel. Through the years she had enjoyed bowling and traveling throughout the United States with her husband aboard Holiday Vacation bus tours.

Pearl will be deeply missed by her husband of 72 years, Bernard, a resident of the Fall Creek Valley Care Center; sister, Catherine Martin of Eau Claire; two nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and other relatives.

A visitation and viewing will be held Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, where a rosary service will be recited at 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held later in the spring with burial in Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Cemetery in Brackett.
