Jacob “Jakeâ€? Thoma, 75 of Hayward WI, passed away April 16th 2013 at University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Jake was born May 6, 1937 to Louis and Julia (Bautch) Thoma. Jake served in the U.S. Air Force from June of 1954 until June of 1958, and with the Air Force Reserves until Aug. of 1962. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Marquette, MI in 1992. Â
Jake is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol (Berlin) Thoma of Hayward WI.; Two sons Bruce Thoma of Wichita, KS.; and Neal (Paula Bur) Thoma; three step-grandchildren Ian and Chandler Bur and Raquel Bur Green all of Marquette, MI.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Larry, Albert and Jerry Thoma.
At Jake’s requests a celebration of life with full military rites conducted by the Carl Nelson Americn Legion Post 324 will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013, at 11:00 am at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta WI. Family and friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be at a later date in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.Â

Following services at the funeral home on Saturday, there will be a luncheon at the American Legion Cabin in the Pines in Osseo WI. Â
