Ruth Zank
Ruth E. Zank, 95, of Augusta, passed away Tuesday at Heritage Assisted Living in 
Eau Claire. 

Ruth Evaline Zank was born on January 23, 1918 in the town of Bridge Creek, Eau Claire County, to Arthur and Clara (Lahn) Erdman. She was a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, where she was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Otto List. She attended Diamond Valley Country School, Grace Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from Augusta High School in 1934. After graduation she worked as a housemaid and was later employed by Stringer’s Mercantile Store. She was united in marriage to Ira Zank on January 1, 1942 at Grace Lutheran Church by Rev. Henry Mueller. Ira and Ruth farmed in rural Augusta until 1984, when they moved to 618 W. Brown Street in Augusta. For the past 2 years she had made her home at Heritage Assisted Living in Eau Claire.  

Ruth will be deeply missed by her daughter, Irene Adam of Augusta; son Dean and Beverly Zank of Thorp; sister Gail Bremel of St. Cloud, MN; 5 grandchildren, Laura and Gustavo Bredee of Ellsworth, Heidi and Timothy Nerud of Fairhaven, MN, Bernita and Dave Korte of Molalla, OR, Ruth and Daniel Biemann of Milwaukee, Mark and Teresa Zank of Silverton, OR; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Helen Barber, Alvin, Donald and Warren Erdman, husband Ira on Dec. 2, 1994 and son-in-law, Ed Adam on Aug. 1, 2008. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.
