Neal Baker
Neal W. Baker, 52, of Hill City, South Dakota, formerly of rural Augusta, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 15, 2014 at Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota.  

Neal Wesley Baker, son of Richard and Dorathy (Green) Baker was born Dec. 10, 1961 in Eau Claire. He was raised in Ludington Township, rural Augusta, where he was baptized in 1962 and confirmed on May 16, 1976, both at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Neal attended school in Augusta and had served in the Army Reserves. In 1986 he moved to Hill City, South Dakota, where he worked in the woods. In 1987, Neal was involved in an automobile accident which left him a quadriplegic. Since that time he had continued to live in Hill City with the assistance of his brother Gregory.  

Neal will be deeply missed by his parents, Richard and Dorathy Baker of rural Augusta; brother, Gregory Baker of Hill City, Michael (Jill) Baker of Augusta; sister, Ramona Van Horn of Long Beach, Mississippi; nephew, Scott (Lorien) Baker of Devils Tower, WY; 3 nieces, Angela (Tim) Ross of Hill City, Ashley Skaare of Rapid City, Cassie Galinda of Eau Claire; 10 great nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Lillie Green, Scott and Lydia Baker and brother Patrick Baker.  

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington Township, with Pastor Cal Siegel officiating. Burial will be in the Ludington Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
