Betty M. Boettcher, 69, of Augusta, passed away early Saturday evening, March 22, 2014 at the Wissota Health and Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
Betty Marie Boettcher was born June 10, 1944 in Eau Claire, daughter of Marvin and Johanna (Zielsdorf) Nehring. She was raised in Bridge Creek Township, rural Augusta. She attended the Dells Country School and graduated from the Augusta High School in 1962. Betty was a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, where she was baptized on July 2, 1944 and confirmed on June 8, 1958, both by Rev. E.G. Schedler. Betty was united in marriage to Ralph Boettcher on July 15, 1967 at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. The couple farmed and raised their 2 children in Bridge Creek Township, rural Fairchild until moving into the city of Augusta in 1993. In addition to raising her family, Betty worked on the farm and enjoyed gardening until her health problems began in early 1990. In September of 2012, due to declining health Betty entered the Northwinds Vent Community in Wausau, and to be near her family she was transferred to the Regional Vent Center in Chippewa Fall in February of 2013.
Betty will be deeply missed by Ralph, her husband of 46 years; son Randy and Becky Boettcher of Augusta; daughter Wanda Boettcher of Columbia Heights, MN; brother, David Nehring of Augusta; sister, Jeanette and Richard Lange of Augusta; 2 step grandchildren, Glen and Jacob; nieces and nephews, Hondo Lange (Candy Johnson), Sheila (Jason) Westerman, Kimberly (Troy) Strasburg, Junell (James) Hughes, Jennifer (Evan) Mazur, Jeff Boettcher, Debbie (Gordy) Bratsven, Mark (Sherry) Boettcher, Greg (Tina) Boettcher, Chad (Vicki) Boettcher, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Marvin on Jan. 31, 2002, mother Johanna on Jan. 23, 2006 and infant brother Kenneth.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating. Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
