Irving Christopher
Irving “Chris the painter” Christopher, 80, of Augusta, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at the Augusta Area Nursing Home. 
Chris, son of Irving and Marjorie (Spice) Christopher was born Aug. 7, 1934 in Eau Claire.  

He was raised in Elk Creek Lake and graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1952. Chris served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1958. He married Donna Rodencal in May of 1961, and to this union 4 children were born. They raised their family in Elk Creek Lake before moving to Ludington Township, rural Augusta in 1974. In 1980, Chris moved to his home on Lake Eau Claire. For the past 3 years he had made his home with his daughter, Beth and her husband. Throughout his life Chris worked as a self employed painter and also hung wallpaper. With family and friends he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening, especially raising tomatoes.

Chris is survived by his 2 sons, Marc Christopher of Fall Creek, Kenny Christopher (Jim Leighton) of Wayzata, MN; 2 daughters, Beth (Jeff) Larson of Osseo, Audra (Larry) Rutter of Emigrant, MT; sister, Audrey Doll of Eau Claire; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jack and Kenny. 

A visitation will be held celebrating Chris’ life on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
