Gregory Frase, a resident of Eau Claire, WI, died Friday February 14, 2014, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI, surrounded by his family.
Gregory Frase was born on December 18, 1952 to Roger and Elaine (Glenz) Frase. Greg grew up in the Augusta, WI area, where he attended school. He was an outstanding athlete at Augusta High Shool, participating in football, basketball, track, and baseball. After high school graduation in 1971, Greg served in the US Army from 1972-1978.
For most of his working years, Greg and Gary, his brother, operated Frase's Meats in Augusta, a business originally started by his father. After Frase's Meats was destroyed by a fire in 2006, Greg began working in the lawn care/snow plowing business. He was employed by Premium Lawn Services at the time of his death.
Greg enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing. His greatest enjoyment in life, however, came from observing any sporting or other activity involving his children. He was happiest when his home was filled with his children and their many friends. His children knew him as "best dad ever" and knew that Greg would do anything and everything for them.
Greg enjoyed his various social circles--his dice shaking pals in Augusta, WI, his golfing partners, the Empty Nester/North High parents group, and the "Mexico" group, other couples who visited Cancun and Cabo St Lucas with Greg and Dixie. Greg enjoyed good times and hearty laughter with all these groups.
Greg is survived by his wife Dixie; children Mark (Julia) of Cibolo TX; Kyle (Nicole) and their children Keaten and Cassidy, of Ham Lake, MN; Nick (Ashley Hanke); Alison (Cody Hartke) and Drew Frase of Eau Claire, WI and beloved grand dog Quincy, brother, Gary (Karen) Frase, Augusta WI, sister, Jerrilyn (Bob) Geiger, Augusta WI, brothers-in-law Bill Hutchinson and Kim (Lisa) Krueger, Augusta WI, sister-in-law Julie (Gary) Kersten of Eau Claire WI. He is further survived by nieces and nephews, Kristofer (Shannon) Geiger, Katie Geiger, Jeanne (Brad) Walsh, Zachary Hall, Jake, Jessica, Brianna, and Brooklyn Krueger, Ashley and Scott Terpstra, and Jennifer Kersten. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Elaine Frase and brother-in-law Jan Krueger.
Greg's eyes were donated to give the gift of eyesight to someone in need.
