Lenear "Jack" Ginther
Lenear “Jack” Ginther, 94, of Augusta, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 23, 2014, at the Augusta Area Nursing Home where he had been a resident for 3 months. 

Lenear Albert Ginther, son of Harry and Della (Jaenke) Ginther was born Dec. 9, 1919 in Ludington Township, rural Augusta. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Augusta. He attended White Country School and graduated from Augusta High School in 1938. Following graduation Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving before and during W.W.2, while stationed on the USS Falcon. After his honorable discharge he returned to Augusta, where he married Margaret Rosenau on April 24, 1952.  
Before moving to Eau Claire, the couple lived the first 2 years of their marriage on the Ginther family farm in Ludington Township. In 1962 they moved from Eau Claire to their present home in Augusta. For 38 years Jack had been employed for American Breeders Service out of DeForest, WI. Jack loved the outdoors, he was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to his spacious yard. He also enjoyed fishing and reading his daily paper and western novels.  

Jack will be dearly missed by Margaret, his wife of 61 years; daughter Rebecca Kampa (Mike Cheever) of Augusta; grandson, Eric Kampa of Eau Claire; sisters-in-law, Anita (Max) Heide of DeKalb, IL, Lorena Berry of Augusta; nieces and nephews, Dean (Kathy) Ginther, Lori (Richard) Kimble, Bill Ginther, Lisa Keast, Joan Kline, Mark Kline, David(Shirley) Kline and their families. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Della, and brothers, Louis, Larry and Leland “Skip” Ginther.  

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home.
