Cadet Kumferman, 86, formerly of Fairchild, passed away Friday evening, Jan. 3, 2014, at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall, WI.
Cadet Kumferman, son of Louis and Anna (Van Buern) Kumferman, was born March 30, 1927, in the Town of Washington, Eau Claire County. He moved to Chippewa County as a child, and it was there that he attended Thronson Country School. He worked all of his life as an electrical journeyman lineman in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and also in Florida. For many years he worked out of St. Paul. He worked in distribution and transmission which involved heavy line work and for several years worked as a foreman. Before his retirement he moved to Fairchild, and since retiring in the early 1990s he had lived in Fairchild, where he enjoyed fishing and riding his four-wheeler. Due to ill health he had been a resident of the Grand View Care Center in Blair for over 4 years.
Cadet is survived by his son, David (Shari) Kumferman of Frontenac, Minnesota; 3 daughters, Fayth (Albert) Przybilla of Independence, Sherlyn (Dan) Bever of Eau Claire, Charmaine Kumferman of Whitehall; sisters, Zelda Brown of Fall Creek; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Anna, who both passed away in 1962; son, Kenneth Kumferman; 2 grandchildren, James Cadet Przybilla and Denise Marie Marten; and siblings, Lorraine Winget, Woletta Steffens, Jeanette Johnson, Delhia Radtke, Jerome, David, Paul, Levi, James and Victor Kumferman.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 10, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery, Augusta. Friends may 1 hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
