Mary Ann Matysik, 82, of Fairchild, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at the hospital of Mayo Clinic Health System-Osseo.
Mary Ann, daughter of William and Lorraine (Dean) Anderson was born Dec. 12, 1931 in Chippewa Falls, WI. She was raised in the Chippewa Falls area, where she attended rural country school and graduated from Chippewa Falls High School. Following graduation Mary Ann was employed by Presto Industries of Eau Claire. On March 15, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald Matysik in Stillwater, Minnesota. For the first six years of their married life they live in Altoona, before moving in 1958, to their present home in Cleveland Township, rural Fairchild. Mary Ann had worked as a nursing assistant at the Sunset Nursing Home in Fairchild, at the Fairchild Healthcare Center and at the Augusta Area Nursing Home. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and entertaining family and friends in her home and around the pool. In earlier years she had enjoyed snowmobiling, riding motorcycle and tending to her beautiful flower gardens.
Mary Ann will be dearly missed by Donald, her husband of 62 years; 2 children, Michael and his wife Chris Matysik, and Janell and husband Rodney Johnson all of Sheboygan; daughter-in-law, Anita Matysik of Eau Claire; 5 grandsons, Brent (Keelie) Johnson, Joe Johnson (Pam Trane), Lance, Matthew and Tyler Matysik; 2 granddaughters, Lindsey and Ashley Matysik; 2 great grandchildren, Piersten and Blake Johnson; brother, Gordon (Patricia) Anderson; 4 sisters, Janet Adams, Nancy Hintz, Wanda (John) Larson and Sharon Anderson.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, sister Betty Yarrington, and son Steven Matysik who passed away in February of 2008.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
