Robert T. Starr II, “Rob” age 57, of rural Eleva, formerly of St. Paul and Augusta, passed away peacefully early Monday morning,
March 3, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System- Eau Claire.
Robert Thomas Starr II, son of Robert and Ardyce (Carlson) Starr was born March 7, 1956 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Rob lived most of his life in St. Paul where he attended Lake Aires Elementary School, graduated from Mariner High School and attended Bethel College. While in college Rob drove school bus and worked with children through the Parks and Recreation program. While in the twin cities area Rob was employed as a cook for various supper clubs, working at night and being a stay at home dad to his 2 daughters during the day. In 2006, Rob moved to Augusta, Wisconsin, where he had worked as a meat cutter at the Augusta IGA. He later started at PRO Poly Manufacture in Augusta, working there until ill health forced his retirement. Rob loved to travel throughout the United States and thoroughly enjoyed his extended trip to New Zealand. When traveling he loved to truly experience the new found areas through hiking, fishing and camping. With his brother and sister-in-law’s involvement with putting together plays, Rob participated and helped wherever needed. He also enjoyed dancing and the solitude of drawing with chalk.
Rob will be deeply missed by his daughters, Starr Brainard, a student in Washington D.C. and Celesta Brainard, a student in Duluth, MN; parents, Robert and Ardyce Starr of St. Paul, MN; the love of his life, Naomi Fisher of rural Eleva; brother, Pastor Jack and Cheryl Starr of Spooner; sister, Jean Starr of Stillwater, MN; nephew, Arden Pifer and his 2 nieces, Leah (Kieran) Adsock-Starr and Hannah Starr; other family members and many friends.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Rob’s brother, Jack Starr officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
