Earl Balliett
Earl M. Balliett, “Chip”, 72, of Osseo, passed away Wednesday morning, August 26, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire. 

Earl Morris Balliett, son of Earl and Lois (Gilbert) Balliett was born August 22, 1943 in Casper, Wyoming. He lived in Casper and Minnesota until moving to Augusta in 1952. In 1957 he moved with his family to Osseo, where he graduated from Osseo High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Sandra Indgjer in May of 1965 and to this union 3 children were born. Through the years Chip had worked at Osseo Silo, National Presto Industries and Uniroyal Tire Company both in Eau Claire. He had also worked at the Whitehall Packing Company and when he retired in 2012 he was working at Global Finishing Solutions in Osseo. Chip had been an active member with the Osseo Masonic Lodge and most recently with the Buffalo River Masonic Lodge of Mondovi. He had enjoyed baseball and softball and through his involvement with the Osseo Youth Program he started umpiring games. He eventually kept very busy as a licensed umpire with the WIAA. Chip always enjoyed spending time with his extended family but especially with his children, grandchildren and sister Ann and her family. With family and friends he had also enjoyed hunting and fishing in Wisconsin.  

Earl will be dearly missed by his 2 sons, Mike and Kristy Balliett of Hatley, WI, Scott Balliett of Bangkok, Thailand; daughter Valerie and Terry Rogers of Inver Grove Heights, MN; sister Ann and Jon Soiney of Osseo; 3 grandchildren, Alexis and Logan Balliett, Samantha Balliett; niece Shelly and Terry Rue and children, Daniel and Hailey; nephew Dan Soiney and Tricia Dulek; and aunt Georgina Balliett of Milwaukee; and various cousins.  

Chip was preceded in death by his father in March of 1972; his mother in September of 2005; and step father Rudolph Davidson.  

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the United Church of Christ in Osseo, with services at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Osseo Cemetery.
