Tom Buchanan
Thomas C. Buchanan, “Tom”, 50, of Augusta, passed away Sunday morning Nov. 15, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.  

Thomas Charles Buchanan, son of Lewis and Joycelyn (Blackcoon) Buchanan was born Sept. 10, 1965 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. At the age of 5 he moved with his family to Augusta, where he attended grade school and graduated from Augusta High School in 1984. While in high school Tom enjoyed playing football and basketball and was voted the M.V.P. his senior year on the Augusta High School Basketball Team. Following graduation Tom attended one year at the University of Wisconsin –Barron. Tom had been employed at Hutchinson Technology in Eau Claire before moving to Waupaca. He returned to Augusta in 2001, and then moved to Neillsville where he was employed at Figi’s Inc. Since the first of the year he had made his home with his mother in Augusta.  In addition to loving sports Tom also loved reading about astronomy and answering trivia questions.  

Tom will be dearly missed by his daughter, Nina Buchanan of Sun Prairie; mother Joycelyn Buchanan of Augusta; sister Stephanie and Ron Sell of Fall Creek; brother William Buchanan of Chippewa Falls; nieces and nephews, Josh and Taylor Sell, Cody Buchanan and Justine Roy. Tom was preceded in death by his father Lewis on Nov. 28, 2012; and grandparents, Harvey and Lena Blackcoon, William and Nina Buchanan. 

A visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. A Native American Prayer Service will be held Tuesday evening at the home on Joyce Buchanan at 606 Main Street in Augusta.  

Native American Church Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at noon at the Joyce Buchanan home, with burial following at the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
