Lyle K. Buttke, 69, of Augusta, passed away Monday evening, November 2, 2015 at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire.
Lyle Kenneth Buttke, son of Harvey and Iva Buttke was born Sept. 12, 1946 in Cadott, Wisconsin. He was raised in the Cadott and Boyd area and attended Sigel Country School. Growing up Lyle worked on the family farm before working at Nelson Muffler in Neillsville. He had also worked in a janitorial position for the city of Augusta, the Augusta School District and for the Career Development Center in Eau Claire. Lyle was united in marriage to Gloria Jean Staffon on Feb. 16, 1974 at the First Baptist Church in Augusta. The couple lived all their married life in Augusta where they raised their 3 children. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing in Wisconsin. Lyle was stricken with Parkinson Disease over 10 years ago and for the past 2 years he had been a resident of the Augusta Area Nursing Home, the Fall Creek Nursing Home and had just recently entered the Clairemont Nursing Home where he was under the care of Mayo Clinic Home Hospice.
Lyle will be dearly missed by Gloria, his wife of 41 years; 3 children, Tina Buttke of Cadott, Ken and his wife, Krystal Buttke of Eau Claire, Alicia Buttke of Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Tammy and Jared Jaroch, Brianna Buttke, Wesley and Christian Solie; sister Esther Brown of Cadott; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Buttke of Durand, Mary Buttke of Cadott.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Dora Donnelly, Clarice Rodriquez, Violetta Robinson, Anton, Victor, LaVern and Floyd Buttke.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 9, 2015 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Services conducted by Pastor Craig Lindgren will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
