Theresia Crawford
Theresia C. Crawford “Tess”, 75, of rural Augusta, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 4, 2015 at the Augusta Area Nursing Home where she had been a resident for 2 weeks. Tess fought a courageous battle with cancer after being diagnosed in July of 2014. 

Theresia Clare Crawford, daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (Greger) Koszuth was born January 13, 1940 in Greenfield, Wisconsin. She was baptized at St. Matthias Catholic Church in West Allis and confirmed at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Tess was raised in Milwaukee where she attended South Division High School. Tess married Ray Frankenberger in October of 1958 in Milwaukee, and to this union 6 children were born. Ray and Tess moved their family to Augusta in 1969, where she had worked at the Augusta Area Nursing Home and Chuck’s Black Bear Supper Club. For over 25 years she had worked in the laundry department of the Clairemont Nursing Home in Eau Claire, retiring at the age of 73. Tess would say that she “Found her lasting love, Russ Crawford” who she married on April 2, 1977.  

Throughout her life she was an avid reader, she enjoyed bird watching, raising flowers, watching Jeopardy and golf on television, and spending time with family. Her main hobbies were fishing and camping, especially at Pike Lake in Chippewa County. Recently Tess expressed that she felt that her greatest accomplishment in life was her children.  

Tess will be dearly missed by Russ, her loving husband of 38 years; 5 daughters, Clarice and Benny Sieg, Barbara and Shawn Pritzl all of Augusta, Susan Frankenberger of Eau Claire, Sharon Frankenberger and Scott Sexter of Stone Lake, Ann and Henry Hattamer of Holcombe; 
10 grandchildren, William (Susan) Warner, Jenna (Troy) Holewinski, Mandie (Brennan) Dickinsen, Jaime Sieg, Benjamin Pritzl, Aaron Pritzl, Teresa Pritzl, Shelly (Zach) Zieche, Frances O’Brien and Henry J. Hattamer; 3 great grandchildren, Mackenzie Warner, Owen Holewinski, Nicholas O’Brien; and 3 great grandchildren on the way; brother Steve and Patricia Koszuth of Waterford; and sister Trudy Drews and soul mate Dick Drews of Waterford.  

Tess was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gertrude Koszuth; son Joseph Frankenberger in 1990; and brother Jim and Madeline Greger; and sister Mary and Dan Stoner. 

A visitation to remember the life of Tess will be held Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Private memorial services will be held with burial in the East Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
