Joy Tafel
Joy J. Tafel, 39, formerly of Augusta, and currently a resident of the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. 

Joy Jean Tafel, daughter of Ralph and Rosalin (Faske) Nobles was born March 21, 1975 in Osseo. She was raised in Augusta, where she attended elementary school and graduated for Augusta High School in 1993. Joy was united in marriage to Roy Tafel III on October 31, 2001 in Eau Claire. The couple had lived in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls. Before being stricken with multiple sclerosis, Joy had worked at the Eau Claire Press Company and in the bakery department of Gordy’s Country Market. Since her illness she had been a resident of Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona, Spring Valley Health Care Center, the Zephyr Group Home in Eau Claire, and since 2013 she had resided at the health care center in Owen. Joy had enjoyed baking, reading supernatural fiction and fantasy novels, watching t.v. and crocheting blankets for her daughters and other loved ones. 

 She is survived by her husband, Roy of Altoona; 3 daughters, Victoria, Willamina and Elizabeth Tafel all of rural Fall Creek; mother Rosalin Nobles of Augusta; sister Brenda (Craig) Nelson and their daughter, Samantha all of Eleva; mother-in-law, Patricia Steinberg (Dennis Dawson) of rural Fall Creek; aunt, Margaret Hamman of Augusta; cousins, Russell (Rene) Hamman of Augusta, Julie (Gregg) Lundquist of Ramsey, MN. 

Joy was preceded in death by her father and favorite uncle, Kenneth Hamman. 

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with services starting at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
