Deloris Wood
Delores A. Wood, 84, formerly of Augusta and most recently a resident of the Fall Creek Valley Care Center, passed away late Thursday evening July 2, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire.  

Delores Adeline Wood, daughter of Guy and Mary (Shaker) Wood was born June 16, 1931 in Milwaukee, the youngest of 6 children. She was baptized and confirmed into the Roman Catholic faith in Milwaukee. She attended grade school in Milwaukee before her family moved to their farm in Augusta, after that she attended Augusta High School. Delores went on to attend technical school and was enrolled in the Advanced Typing class. At the technical school she also participated in swimming and volleyball. Delores had a variety of jobs throughout her life. Her first job was cleaning floors in a hospital, worked several seasonal jobs, as a clerk in a dime store in Milwaukee, as an inspector in a roller skate factory, in a pickle factory, for Bush Brothers Canning Company and boxed chocolates at Johnson’s Candy Factory. In 1963 she started at the Augusta Dry Cleaners and eventually went to work in Erwin Seehafer’s Law Office. Her last job was working as a home care provider for Community Health Partnership out of Eau Claire. She loved this type of work and worked in this capacity until retiring in 2004. Delores and Erv Seehafer had a long time caring relationship. When Erv was unable to care for himself, Delores took care of him in her home until he passed away in April of 2000. Since suffering a fall on March 7, 2013, Delores had been a resident of the Fall Creek Valley Care Center.  
When Delores was able she enjoyed swimming, cooking, decorating her home and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She also loved to read and was most interested in books and magazines on healthy living. 

Delores will be dearly missed by her local family, 2 nieces, Susie Wood, Kathy and Tom Maug all of Osseo; Kathy’s children, Larry and Joy Lauterbach, Wendy and Danny Sluga all of Osseo, and Kelly Olson of Chippewa Falls. She is further survived by her brother-in-law and sister in law, John Volak and Terri Wood both of South Gate, CA; other nieces and nephews, Linda Kartye of Milwaukee, Mary (Mark) Farley of San Jose, CA, Rose Anne Challer of Yonkers, New York, Bobby Davis of Milwaukee, David (Cheri) Davis of Virginia and their families. 

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Mary; and 5 siblings, Katherine, Margie, Virginia, Robert and William; and nephew Carl Wood. 

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
