Wallace Asmussen
Wallace Asmussen, 85, of rural Augusta, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 at the Wissota Health Center in Chippewa Falls.

Wallace Eugene Asmussen, son of Willard and Ellen (Anderson) Asmussen was born March 27, 1931 in Eau Claire. He was raised on the family farm just outside Eau Claire in Brunswick Township and attended school in Altoona.  
Wally served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict from January 31, 1952 until Jan. 15, 1954. After his honorable discharge he returned to the family farm where he farmed until 1957. In May of 1957 he was united in marriage to Sharron Olson at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, and to this union 2 children were born. The couple moved to Milwaukee, where from 1960 until his retirement in May of 1993 he was employed as a machinist and electrician for Logemann Brothers, where they manufactured bailers for paper, cardboard and aluminum. After his retirement he returned to northern Wisconsin, making his home in rural Augusta on Lake Eau Claire. While retired Wally enjoyed spending time on wood working projects and fishing.  

Wally is survived by his 2 children, son Craig (Jane) Asmussen of Colgate; and their two children, Michael and Adam Asmussen; daughter, Lori Jean (Jeff)) Larson of Delevan; and her 2 children, Todd Witkowski and Amy (Dean)Christianson; and by his sister, Eleanore (Vernon) Krupa of Chippewa Falls.  

Wally was preceded in death by his 3 siblings, Dennis Asmussen, Lillian Beaulieo and Lorraine Rosman.

A visitation celebrating Wally’s life will be held Saturday October 22, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
