Bonnie Dietz
Bonnie J. Dietz, 88, of Osseo, formerly of Augusta, passed away Tuesday at Mayo Clinic Health System-Osseo. 

Bonnie Joyce Dietz, daughter of Sever and Dorothy (Oliver) Lavold, was born March 31, 1928 in Westby, Wisconsin. She was raised in Viroqua, where she attended grade school and graduated from Viroqua High School in 1946. After high school she moved to Minnesota, where she worked as a clerk for the Minnesota Highway Department. Bonnie was united in marriage to Lawrence Carlson on Sept. 20, 1952 in Viroqua, and to this union 3 children were born. While living in Bloomington, Minnesota, Lawrence passed away on July 20, 1961, just 3 months prior to the birth of their 3rd child. Bonnie met Harold Dietz, awidower with 4 children, and on June 8, 1963 the couple were married and they went on to adopted each others children, in addition to raising their own daughter. The family continued to live in Bloomingtonuntil Harold retired in 1982 and the couple moved to rural Fairchild. After Harold passed away on March 4, 1988, Bonnie moved into the city of Augusta in 1990. Bonnie was active in city matters, serving on the Augusta Nursing Home, Library and Senior Center Boards and on various committees. She was a nursing home volunteer and a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, where she actively served with the ladies aid. 

 Children: 2 sons, Mark and Cathy Dietz of Maplewood, MN, Scott and Tammy Dietz of Castle Rock, CO; 6 daughters, Sharon Dietz of Anaheim, CA, Beverley and Roger Ellwien of Coon Rapids, MN, Carol Dietz of Chicago, IL, Roberta Griggs of New Brighton, MN, Lori and Russ Freeberg of Eau Claire, Teri and Randy Moldenhauer of Osseo; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald and Orvin Lavold. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta.  

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Burial will be inthe West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta.
