Louise Egan
Louise E. Egan, 96, of Augusta, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 23, 2016.

Louise Eleanore Egan was born November 2, 1919 in Lewistown, Montana, daughter of John and Lillian (Youderian) Berven. Louise was raised in Big Sky Country, Montana, where she led a privileged life as an only child on a large sheep ranch. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. Louise attended grade school in Flatwillow and after graduation from Winnett High School she was united in marriage to Frank Gjerde. Together they raised 3 children in addition to operating the Gjerde Cattle Ranch. With her 3 children Louise moved to Osseo in 1957 and at this time in her life she attended U.W. Eau Claire and worked at Eau Claire Book and Stationery. Louise married Jack Cook on July 14, 1962, and with her husband she moved to the Foster area where they farmed. Upon their retirement they moved to Augusta in 1984. Jack passed away on Oct. 3, 1988. At the Augusta Senior Center Louise met her soul mate James Egan, the couple later married on May 22, 1990. James preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2001. 

  Louise will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sylvia Haug ofEau Claire, and her children, Scott Haug, Kelly (Jennifer) Haug and Gregory Haug; son John Gjerde of Madison; and grandchildren, Michael Emerson, Valerie Emerson and Sarah (Ash) Duff. She is further survived by her son, Warren (Dawnette) Cook of Foster and their children, Trevor (Tanya) Cook, Taytum (Trent) Evenson; and also by 9 great grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Desmond, Ren, Pearl, Florence, Alex, Abby and Christopher. Also Louise’s parents and daughter Frances Emerson preceded her in death. 

Private family services will were held at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Gary Sahs officiating. Burial was in the Osseo Cemetery.
