George and Patricia Gribble
George Gerald Gribble “Gary” son of George Sr. and Irmin (Mitchell) Gribble was born Oct. 6, 1936 in Milwaukee, WI.

Before the age of 2 his mother passed away and he was eventually raised by his aunt and uncle in Boscobel. At the age of 17 and before his graduation from Boscobel High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served state side during the Korean Conflict.

Following his honorable discharge in 1956, he returned to the Boscobel area where he joined family members to farm. George eventually met Patricia Ann Gaulthier. Patti was born August 26, 1943 in Lansing, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Spores) Gaulthier. She was raised in Lansing, where she graduated from high school. George and Patricia were united in marriage on Sept. 9, 1961, in Lansing. The couple lived in Kenosha, WI, where they both worked at American Motors-Chrysler and were members of the United Auto Works Union  # 72. George retired in 1991 after 35 years of employment and Patti retired in 1989 after 19 years of employment.

Wanting to retire in northern Wisconsin, the couple purchased their property on Lake Eau Claire, just north of Augusta in 1984. After Patti retired she moved with her sons to their lake home and 2 years later when George retired he joined his family. Over the years together they both enjoyed bowling and fishing. George also participated in fishing throughout the United States in Walleye Tournaments. He was also interested in golfing and coin collecting. Patti found pleasure in sitting outside enjoying the lake and her surroundings and if at all possible she never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune.

For several years George had suffered with failing heath and was currently a resident of the Alzheimer’s Unit of Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, MN. It was at Bethesda that he passed away on Sunday morning March 27, 2016, having reached the age of 79 years, 5 months and 21 days. Less than 24 hours later Patti passed away suddenly at home on Monday morning, March 28, 2016, reaching the age of 72 years, 7 months and 2 days.
George and Patti are survived by their 2 sons, Troy and Keri Gribble of Augusta, Thor “Butch” Gribble of Osseo; 2 daughters, Terri Lee of Carlisle, PA, Tammi Gribble of Kenosha; George's daughter and Patti's step-daughter, Donna Gribble of Texas; 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. George is also survived by his sister Janise Behling of Kenosha.

The couple was both preceded in death by their parents; grandson Gerald Gribble; George's son, Gary Gribble; George's sister Joyce Whiteaker; and Patti's brother Ronald Gaulither.
