Ruth Ida
Ruth E. Ida, 89, of rural Fall Creek, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, July 30, 2016 at the Fall Creek Valley Care Center with the comfort of her loving family at her side. 

Ruth Emma Ida was born on Oct. 2, 1926, daughter of Henry and Emma (Boetzer) Lange. She was raised in the Diamond Valley area of Bridge Creek Township, rural Augusta. She with her siblings attended Diamond Valley Country School. She was raised in the Lutheran faith being baptized on Oct. 31, 1926 and was confirmed on Feb. 18, 1945 both at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. Ruth was united in marriageto Lawrence Ida on Jan. 27, 1946 at St. James Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. The couple lived all their married life and raised their family on the Ida family farm in Lincoln Township, rural Fall Creek. Ruth loved baseball and was an avid Augusta Athletics fan. Her daughter Darlene saw to it that she attended as many games as possible and the two of them were given plaques by the team in appreciation of their loyalty. Ruth also spent many hours working crossword and word fine puzzles. The most important part of her life was her family and she will be remembered as saying, “I don’t sit down until I have taken care of all my babies.” 

Ruth will be dearly missed by her 5 children; sons Larry and Linda Ida of Augusta, Michael and Rita Ida of De Soto, Missouri, Harold and Bunny Ida of Osseo, Darrell Ida of St. Paul; daughter Darlene Ida of rural Fall Creek; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence on Aug. 25, 1993; sons, Dennis on May 3, 1967, Roger on July 27, 2009; and siblings, Harry and Raymond Lange, Henrietta Von Haden, Bernice Jurkowski and Elvera Boetcher. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
