Robert E. Lee, 83, of Eau Claire and formerly of Augusta, passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016 at the Dove Healthcare Center-South in Eau Claire.
Robert Eugene Lee, son of Robert and Adeline (Baker) Lee was born Oct. 1, 1933. He was raised in Elk Mound where he attendedgrade school and graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1951.Following graduation Bob served in the National Guard. Bob began his 45 year employment with Lampert Lumber Yard in Elk Mound. After his marriage to Gwendolyn Patterson on Sept. 24, 1955 the couple moved to Winter, where he managed the yard there, before moving to Augusta in 1962. He was the manager of Lamperts in Augusta until transferring to Amery in 1986. After his retirement Bob and Gwen moved to Eau Claire in 1996. To remain somewhat busy at this time in his life he delivered the Eau Claire Leader Telegram for several years. While in Augusta, Bob was an active member and held various offices with the United Methodist Church, the Augusta Lions Cluband Augusta-Bridge Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Bob had always enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and his most favorite pastime was picking strawberries.
Bob will be dearly missed by Gwen, his wife of 61 years; 4 sons, Robert Lee of Walker, MN, Dennis (Linda) Lee of Augusta, Douglas (Jan) Lee of Eau Claire, Randy (Chris) Lee of Augusta; daughter Janice (Bob) Lauer of Grafton; 11 grandchildren, Katie Lee (David Borland), R.J. Lee, Kelsey (Steffaine) Lee, Spencer (Amy) Lee, Tyler Lee, Samuel Goberville, Rhianon Lee, Jessica (Jeremy) Lyrenmann, Shannon Lee, Kassandra (C.J.) Brauer, Mallory Lee; 13 great grandchildren; brother David Lee of Menomonie; sister Judy (Jerry) Skaar of Pardeeville; 2 sisters-in-
law, Pat (Joe) Nemec of Ashland, Linda (Gene) Mitchell of Chandler, AZ; other relative and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Adeline; niece Renee Ades; Gwen’s parents, Frank and Elizabeth Patterson;brothers-in-law, Eddie, Ronnie and Bruce Patterson.
A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
