Ada Ann McConnell, 56, of Augusta, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire.
Ada Ann, daughter of Raymond and Minnie (Grimm) McConnell was born July 13, 1959 in Chippewa Falls, WI. She was raised in Cadott, where she attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic Grade School and graduated from Cadott High School in 1977. Since her graduation she had lived Augusta, first working at Northern Christmas Trees in Merrillan and for the past 25 years she had worked for Ashley Furniture in Arcadia. Ada’s children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life. Reading and investigating yards sales were two of her favorite pastimes. Her library was extensive and her collections eccentric. When her children were young she enjoyed taking them fishing and had loved riding motorcycles. Ada was not only a wonderful mother and grandmother but also a wonderful friend.
Ada will be deeply missed by her children, Stacey McConnell of Altoona, Dennis McConnell of Eau Claire; 3 grandchildren, Stacia and Tanaya McConnell, Ayden Mc Connell; adopted son, Dan Muszynski of Beloit and his family; mother, Minnie McConnell of Cadott; 4 brothers, Adam (Amy) McConnell of Farmington, MN, Raymond McConnell of Murfreesboro, TN, Brian McConnell of Cadott, Jon McConnell of Madison; 3 sisters, Kim (Robert) Palmer of Seattle, WA, Kelly (Bill) Angel of Bellingham, WA, Jody McConnell of Gibsonville, NC; several nieces, nephews and numerous close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Raymond on Sept. 23, 2001; grandparents, Ada and Frank Grimm and Mark and Anna McConnell; and dear friends, Jacob King, Lynn Gilbert, Melvin and Iris Sauers, Kurt Hovde and Randy.
A celebration of Ada’s life and a time to reminisce with family and friends will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Augusta Lions Hall, located at 200 E. Lincoln St. (Highway 12) Augusta. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
