Julie was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta and graduated from Augusta High School in 1974. For the past 15 years she had worked in a secretarial position with E.O. Johnson of Eau Claire. Julie was united in marriage to Vic Piel before her marriage to Steve Ludwig in 1983; to this union her 2 children were born.
