Ray Sipel
Raymond A. Seipel, 84, of Osseo, passed away early Sunday morning, Oct. 30, 2016 at the Dove Healthcare Center in Osseo. 

Raymond Andrew, son of Arthur and Margaret (Yenny) Seipel was born in Rock Elm Township in Pierce County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rock Falls. Ray was raised in the Rock Falls area where he attended school before working at Huntsinger Farms. Ray served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from April of 1952 until March of 1956. After hishonorable discharge he worked 3 years in a factory in Racine. He then moved back to the Rock Falls area and worked as an electricianat Uniroyal Tire Company in Eau Claire. He worked with Uniroyal until the plant's closing in 1992. Ray enjoyed dancing and it was at a dance that he was introduced to Ethel Langworthy Gehres, the couple later married on Feb. 17, 1968 at Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Brackett. The couple lived all their married life in Osseo. With the marriage to Ethel, Ray was blessed with a family that adored him. 

 Ethel and Ray spent many hours with their granddaughters Jodi and Ingrid. Wonderful times were spent at the cabin on Lake Wissota, the trailer on the Flambeau River, riding all the rides at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair and attending as many dances as possible. Ray also enjoyed watching the Brewers, fishing, hunting and following the Osseo-Fairchild’s football and basketball teams. For several years Ray was a wonderful caregiver to his wife Ethel after she suffered several strokes. During the past 9years Ray would winter in Arizona, and had returned to Wisconsin this spring after spending the winter in Apache Junction. Ray’s faith was an important part of his life and he proudly served 64 years with the Knights of Columbus. He was currently with the Trinity Council at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Bracket, where he was a 3rd. degree member. 

 Ray will be dearly missed by his step-daughter, Genell Johnson of Osseo; 2 granddaughters, Jodi and Vic Stephens, Ingrid and Jonathan Logterman all of Osseo; 3 great grandchildren, Brittani Stephens, Naomi and Bernice Logterman; sister, Theresa and Matt Brantner of Eau Claire; special friend Laura Ingram of Apache Junction, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.  

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Margaret; wife Ethel on Oct. 17, 2003; and siblings, Berneice Feeney, Bernard Seipel and Verdalee Bjorge. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday atSt. Raymond’s of Pena fort Catholic Church in Brackett, with servicesat 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. 

 Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Rock Falls.The Knight of Columbus will be leading a rosary service Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
