Gary Hagedorn
Gary (Satch) Hagedorn, son of Lorena Hagedorn, was born September 19, 1938. 

 Gary was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural FallCreek. Satch attended White School and graduated from Cadott High School in 1956. After high school Satch and his cousin, Neil, had a milk route. In January of 1962 he entered the U. S. Army and served until December of 1963. Upon his discharge he started tending bar at Chicken Chaser’s in Fall Creek. Satch married Suzanne Krenz on May 13, 1967. They had one son, Terry. In January, 1971, Satch and Susie took over the Chicken Chaser’s and operated it for 40 years, selling it in October, 2011. Satch pitched fast pitch softball for many years in the Dairyland Fastpitch Softball League, teams in the Cadott, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire areas, sponsored and pitched for the Chicken Chaser’s team. He got his nickname from the great pitcher, Satchel Paige. Satch enjoyed fishing hunting, going on many trips to Canada and out West. He also liked watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. Due to heart problems, Satch entered the Augusta Rehab Center January 30, 2017. It was there that he passed away on Friday morning, March 3, 2017. 

  He is survived by his wife, Susie; son, Terry; half-sisters, Connie (Kenny) Lancour of Cadott, Sandy (Gary) Crogg of Nebraska; sister-in-law, Connie (John) Brown of Augusta; other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorena; grandparents; aunts and uncles, Lorraine & Archie Hagedorn, Corrine (Tootie) and Norm Jungerberg, Anita Brenn; cousin, Neil Hagedorn; in-laws, Lorena and Herman Krenz; and brother-in-law, Romaine Krenz. 

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta with Rev. Carlton Kangas, officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at a later date in St. James Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek. 

  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be donated in Satch’sname. Anderson Funeral Home of Augusta is serving the family.
