Myron Halvorson
Myron A. Halvorson, 85, of Augusta, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Monday morning, Jan. 2, 2017. 

 He was in the loving care of his family and Mayo Home Hospice. Myron Alvin Halvorson, son of Martin and Goldie (Grandal) Halvorson was born Feb. 3, 1931 in Blair. He was raised in the Blair area where he attended country school. On Dec. 25, 1952, Myron was united in marriage to Alice Hanson in Blair. The couple lived most of their married life in Augusta. Myron had farmed early in his life and after moving to Augusta he drove semi truck for Randall Livestock and Brunzlick Trucking both of Augusta. He had also driven for Tennessee Truck Line where he hauled Bush Brothers product. Myron took pride in his large vegetable gardens and was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan. 

Myron will be dearly missed by Alice, his wife of 64 years; 5 sons, Gerald Halvorson (Maggie Woodford) of Eau Claire, Michael Halvorson, David (Mitzi) Halvorson, Gregory Halvorson all of Augusta, John Halvorson of Oshkosh; 3 daughters, Jean Gilbert of Hayward, Mary Aiken of Eau Claire and Sharon (Bob) Miller of Grand Junction, CO; 16 grandchildren: 21 great grandchildren: and sister Irene Thompson of Blair.  

Myron was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Melvin, Archie, Gladys and Mary Ann.

A celebration of Myron’s life will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Augusta-Bridge Creek Fire Station located at 745 Industrial Drive, Augusta. (The station is located beside the Augusta water tower. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home.
