Arlyn B. Olson, 73, of rural Fairchild, Garfield Township, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday evening, July 27, 2017. He had been in the care of his family and Mayo Home Hospice.
Arlyn Burke Olson, son of Robert "Jerry" and Muzetta (Markham) Olson was born April 16, 1944 in Osseo. He was raised in the Osseo area where he attended grade and high school. On Jan. 25, 1964 he was united in marriage to Judith Ann Brown at the Augusta United Methodist Church. The couplelived in Osseo before moving in 1977 to rural Fairchild, where they built their home in Garfield Township. Arlyn had worked for many years at Gunderson Chevrolet Auto Body Shop. Before retiring in 2006, he had also worked a couple of years for the Ashley Furniture Company. Arlyn enjoyed spending time outdoors in Wisconsin, whether it was hunting, camping or fishing. Heespecially enjoyed his family trips to Hayward and the challenge of fishing for that "big muskie." Hewas a loyal Green Bay Packer and Nascar fan, but the most special times in his life revolved around his family, spending time with Judy, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and their families; all who will dearly miss him.
Arlyn is survived by Judy, his wife of 53 years; 2 sons, Scott and Lenette Olson of Fairchild, Paul and Kia Olson of Osseo; daughter Doddie Robertson (David LaCosta) of Wisconsin Rapids; 13 grandchildren, Brooke (John) Dingler, Tyler Olson, Ashley Robertson, Michael Robertson Jr., Fabian Robertson, Christopher Olson (Kristine Gunderson), Samantha Olson (Cory Compeau), Brandi Olson (Damien Kopp), Dillion Heckart, Nikita Cavon, Michael LaCoste, Takoda LaCosta, Taija Manning; 11 great grandchildren, Sadie Dingler, Kamdon Kopp, Lincoln Dingler, Rose Robertson, Shelby Emerson, Bryce, Brock and Jaylyn Johnson, Jillian Heckart, Titus Cavon, and Charlotte Mannig; sister, Rene' and Donald Springer of Osseo; brother, Ronald and Lois Olson of Altoona; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Arlyn was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jack, Buddy, Larry, Craig, and Dean Olson,Darliene Gomsrud and Nanette Miske.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Osseo Cemetery.
