Nancy M. Olson, 61, of Augusta, formerly of Fall Creek, passed away peacefully during her sleep at her home on Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017.
Nancy Marie Olson, daughter of Edwin and Viola (Klatt) Sell was born August 20, 1955 in Eau Claire. She was raised in Lincoln Township, rural Fall Creek, where she was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and attended Geisler Country School. She also attended Fall Creek Elementary School and graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1974. Nancy was united in marriage to Terry Olson on Sept. 21, 1974 at the Wayne Reetz farm, rural Fall Creek. The couple lived in Eau Claire, before moving to the Gay Kaatz farm, rural Fall Creek. At this time, in addition to farming, Nancy had also worked at the Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home and at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center in Menomonie. After her husband passed away on Feb. 11, 1999, she moved to Altoona, and was working at Hutchinson Industries before taking a position with Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona. At the present time she was working as a cashier for Mega Holiday in Eau Claire. In December of 2016, she moved to rural Augusta, living near Lake Eau Claire and making her home with her son. Nancy had worked in the healthcare field, retail and assembly, but her heart was in farming. When not working with the animals or in the fields, she loved being outside working in her flower and vegetable gardens, camping and fishing. She also loved preparing a good meal or reading a good book. She cherished her family and the manyfriends she made throughout her life.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her daughter, Marcia and Bryan Wulff of Mondovi, son, Jason Olson and Rachel Christie of Augusta; 6 grandchildren, Samantha and Dustin Wulff, Kaylee and Chandra Olson, Darrian and Owen Olson-Emborsky: 7 siblings, Geraldine Sell of Pine City, MN, Duane (Elaine) Sell of Augusta, Judith (Harold) Jackson of Fall Creek, Donald Sell of Fall Creek, Marion and Michael Stokes of Eau Claire, Regina Sell and Betty Sell both of Fall Creek; 12 nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Nancy was also preceded in death by her father Edwin on July 15, 1978; mother Viola on July 19, 1997; 2 brothers, Steven in infancy; and Gary Sell on July 21, 2008.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from noon to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Fall Creek. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with Rev. Carlton Kangas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
