Elaine "Tootie" Redmond
Elaine E. Redmond, “Tootie”, 100, formerly of Augusta, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Plum City Care Center. 

Elaine Ellen Redmond, daughter of Ralph and Gertrude (Crogg) Green was born June 28, 1916 in Ludington Township, Eau Claire County. She was baptized Methodist and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Augusta. She was raised in Ludington Township, where she attended Woodland Valley and Clay Loam Country Schools, and graduated from Augusta High School in 1934. On June 23, 1935, Tootie was united in marriage to Damon Walter Redmond. The couple lived all their married life in Augusta, where Tootie had been employed at the Pettis Dairy Bar, Korth’s IGA, and Anderson Canning Factory. She also worked at Red’s Sport Shop and Tavern, which was owned by her father-in-law, Charlie Redmond. Eventually Damon and Tootie purchased the family business. For 30 years she also worked as a secretary for the Dickinsen Insurance Agency of Augusta. Tootie also enjoyed working outdoors, whether it was keeping up with the yard or planting and working in her large gardens.She had been a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Augusta, andenjoyed her involvement with its’ ladies society. Due to failing health,Tootie entered the Season's Assisted Living in Plum City in June of 2012, and had just recently entered the Plum City Nursing Home. 

Tootie is survived by her son-in-law, Loyal Monson of Plum City; grandson Scott (Julie) Monson of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughter, Pam (Troy) Bellrichard of River Falls; 6 great grandchildren, Rachael, Danny and Carly Monson, Hannah and Sarah Bellrichard; and nephew, Craig Vinopal of Augusta.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Damon on Aug. 19, 1996; daughter, Mona Monson on Dec. 17, 2010; and her brother, Lester Green on March 8, 1999.  

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
