Brenda Jo Schlewitz, 67, of rural Fall Creek, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 16, 2017 at River Pines Nursing Home in Altoona.
She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Mayo Hospice. Brenda was born Feb. 23, 1950 in Eau Claire, the daughter of Robert and Phylis (Fitch) Jackson. She was raised in the Town of Seymour, attended Seymour Central Elementary School and graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1968. Brenda was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith and had been a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. She was united in marriage to Duane Schlewitz on March 15, 1969 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The couple lived all their married life on the Schlewitz family farm in Lincoln Township. In addition to raising her family, Brenda had worked as a Home Interior sales representative for several years. When Duane and Brenda retired from milking cows they both took a 3 year position with Hutchinson Technologies in Eau Claire. Brenda then finished her Certified Nursing Assistant training and until fully retiring in 2006 she was employed as a CNA with Community Health Partners out of Eau Claire.
Brenda enjoyed her life as a homemaker on the farm, raising her children and spending time with the family, especially her grandchildren. She looked forward to the family camping trips on the Jackson family property on Bonner Lake north west of Spooner. She also enjoyed making flower arrangements for various occasions and spending time with friends.
Brenda will be deeply missed by Duane, her husband of 48 years; 5 children, Devinand Tammy Schlewitz of Fall Creek, Denise and Mitch Larson of Mondovi, Darren and Tammy Schlewitz of Elk Mound, Delton and Rebekah Schlewitz of Mondovi, Matthew Jackson of Fall Creek; mother Phylis Jackson of Mondovi; 9 grandchildren, Lindsay and Aaron Larson, Ashleigh, Davon, Darrik, Cullen, Jillian, Kylie and Kayden Schlewitz; 5 brothers, Jim and Bonnie Jackson, Jerry and Renee Jackson all of Chippewa Falls, John and Patti Jackson, William Jackson all of Eau Claire, Roger and Deb Jackson of Webster; 3 sisters, Linda and Ed Nordstorm of Webster, Lillian and Tom Roach of Eau Claire, Janet and Mike Urbas of Chippewa Falls; sister-in-law, Linda Holte of Fall Creek; numerous other relatives and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father; her precious granddaughter Josie Schlewitz; Duane’s parents, Frank and Violet Schlewitz; brother-in-law John Holte.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church with Pastor Carlton Kangas officiating.
Burial will be in the Trinity Cemetery in Fall Creek.
