Dioney Jean Sell, 83, of Augusta, went home to her Lord on March 20, 2017 after a short stay at the Augusta Area Home in Augusta.
Dioney was born March 17, 1934 in Milwaukee to Norman and Lydia (Severson) Zibolski. She was the oldest of 6 children. At the age of 10, she moved to a farm in rural Jackson County. She graduated from Taylor High School in 1951. Before attending college, she worked as a nanny for a wonderful family. She then met the love of her life, Marvin Sell, at Fournier’s Ballroom in EauClaire. On August 16, 1953, Dioney married Marvin at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. She and Marvin farmed in the town of Lincoln. She enjoyed her life on the farm. After retiring, they sold the farm and built a house on a parcel of their land. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. She had served as a Sunday school teacher and as the Ladies Fellowship President several times. She also served by helping with the Lions Banquets, sewing quilt tops for World Relief, and donating rosettes to the Christmas fair. Her true passion was planning the yearly Senior Banquet. She loved the challenge of coming up with a new theme each year and implementing it so others could enjoy it. For several years she had served on the Lincoln Township Election Board. Dioney will be remembered for her love for her Lord Jesus Christ and her overflowing love of the life He gave her!
She treasured spending time with her family. (Family trips to Branson, Walt Disney World, Sea World, and 14 years of weekends at the cottage will also have a special place in our hearts.) We will always remember the delicious treats she made – lefse, rosettes, caramel corn, peanut brittle, doughnuts, brownies, and chocolate pies (to listonly a few). We will also cherish the quilts, rugs, and doilies that she made. When she received the news that she had terminal cancer, with all her poise and dignity, she told us that she had been blessed with 82 wonderful years here on earth and she was ready to go home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She also told us to celebrate her life, not mourn her loss. What an amazing lady!
Dioney is survived by Marvin, her husband of 63; son Mike (Lisa) of Fall Creek; daughter-in-law Sharon (Dan) McLaughlin of Eagleton; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Kathy) Zibolski of Milwaukee, Bill Zibolski of Strum; sister Debby Schyvinck of Florida; many other relatives andfriends.
