Adeline Arndt
Adeline J. Arndt, 85, of Augusta, passed away early Wednesday evening August 8, 2018 with her loving family by her side at the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation.

Adeline Joyce Arndt was born in the Requa area of Garfield Township, rural Osseo on October 16, 1932.Adeline was the youngest of 5 children born to Ransom and Effie (Hanson) Richards. As a child she was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at the South Beef River Lutheran Church, rural Osseo. With her siblings she attended Church View Country School. On April 14, 1951, Adeline was united in marriage to Gerald “Gary” Arndt at the parsonage of Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta. Their first home together was in the city of Augusta, where they lived until the late 1960’s when they purchased and moved to their farm just south of Augusta. In the 1980’s they sold their farm and purchased the Arndt family farm just north of Augusta. After Gary passed away on March 14, 2015, Adeline remained in her home until March of 2016, when
she entered the Silver Leaf Assisted Living in Augusta. Due to failing health she eventually moved into the nursing home. Adeline enjoyed her role as wife, mother and homemaker. She always had a large garden, and much to her family’s delight she was a baker extraordinaire. She often helped Gary with the cattle and farming; and always had the coffee on for the two of them as well as for company. If you knew Adeline at all, you knew she was always up for pulling a practical joke on someone that followed with a endearing smile and giggle. For a few years she had worked for VivianLangworthy at Viv’s Café in Augusta. Over the years she enjoyed her involvement with the Grace Lutheran Ladies Society.
