LeRoy George
LeRoy J. George, 75, of rural Osseo, passed away at his home in hospice care on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018. 

 LeRoy James George, son of Emil and Clara (Wiench) George was born Dec. 23, 1942 in Blair, Wisconsin. He was raised in the Arcadia area where he attended country school. LeRoy served in the United States Army as an airborne ranger during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge he returned to Wisconsinand was united in marriage to Claudia Andre in Royal Oak, Michigan. After their divorce he married Betty Baldwin in 1973, they later divorced in 1981. LeRoy had lived in Milwaukee for 2 years before moving back to the Whitehall area where he farmed. He eventually left farming to become an over the road truck driver. During his driving career he drove for Landy Packing of Whitehall,Millis Trucking of Black River Falls, for Bud Mayer Truck Lines and when he retire in 2002, he was driving for Foodliner Trucking. After his retirement he did some tree trimming in the area but mainly enjoyed fishing and hunting in Wisconsin as well as elk hunting in Colorado. He also enjoyed watching old westerns and reading.  

LeRoy will be dearly missed by his daughter, Lee Marie George of Osseo; 2 sons, Christopher and Nita George of Glen Cove, New York, DeWayne and Sara George of Fairchild; 6 grandchildren, Jeffrey George, Phoebe George, Wyatt George, Alexander (Aleisha) George, Brianna (Jacob) Featherly and Ryan George; 4 great grandchildren, Eve, Eliza, Leo and Matthew; several step grandchildren and their families; 3 sisters, Lorraine George of Milwaukee, Irene Witte of California, and Diane George of Eau Claire; and long time friends, Bob Madison and Gerald Jenks. 

 LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; son Michael Matthew George; and siblings, Maryellen Callen, Bernadean Niemic, Theresa Rice and Emil George Jr. 

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Osseo Community Church with Pastor Larry Hoekstra officiating. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
