Daniel Dale Heath, 80, of Osseo, WI, passed away on Sunday, May 27th 2018 at Dove Healthcare in Osseo, WI.
Dan was born on October 19th, 1937 in Eleva, WI to Alvie and Margaret (Kadingo) Heath. He grew up in Fairchild, WI, where he helped his dad with the daily routine of the farm life. In early years, he also hauled milk and worked at the cheese factory.
Dan moved to Midlothian, IL where he drove truck. He met his beloved wife, Karen, in 1966. They married on January 7th, 1967 in Crowne Pointe, IN. They later moved back to Fairchild, WI in 1969. While in Fairchild, Dan farmed for 10 years and then went back to driving truck. Dan drove for Schmidt Brothers and then later, became an owner operator for Wayne Transport.
Dan and Karen moved to Foster, WI in 1981 and then settled in Osseo, WI in 1994. Dan had a passion for hunting, especially racoon. He also enjoyed night hunts, water races and showing his prize dog, Slick. Dan enjoyed these activities with his children and many friends. Dan retired in 2006. In retirement, he enjoyed attending rodeos and horse sales.
Everyone that had the honor and privilege of knowing Dan, was truly blessed. Dan had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone, he loved to joke around and had a smile that could light up the room. Words could never fully explain what Dan meant to his family.
Dan will be deeply missed by his loving wife Karen of 51 years and his children, Daniel Heath of Poplar Grove IL, Cheryl (Dave) Hodge of Michigan City IN, Debra (Mike) Neubauer of Plainfield IL, Becky Maug of Augusta WI, Lori Berg of Osseo WI, Catherine Wessman of Fairchild WI, Bill Wessman of Peotone IL, Lisa (Joel) Boettcher of Fairchild WI, Alvie (Lori) Heath of Canton OH, Mike(Karen) Heath of Canton OH. He is further survived by his sisters, June (Jack) Korn of Birchwood WI and Pat (Jerry) Darrow of Exeland WI, along with many cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and dear friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Alvie and Margaret, his son Jeffery, his 3 brothers, Richard, Robert and Glen, his daughter-in-law Julie, and his grandson Douglas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
