Selma Lane
Selma L. Lane, 96, of the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 9, 2018 at the nursing home. 

Selma Louise Lane was born Feb. 13, 1922 in the town of Lincoln, Eau Claire County to Louie and Clara (Puhlman) Kuehn. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith, attended country school and Eau Claire Senior High School. Selma was united in marriage to Henry Lane at her parent’s home on Oct. 22, 1944.  
The couple lived all of their married life on the Lane family farm int he town of Seymour. After her husband passed away in 1976 she remained on the farm until moving into the Fall Creek Commons in 2000. Due to failing health she entered the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation on Feb. 26, 2018. Selma was the mother of 4 children, Mary, Judy, June and Henry who were the pride and joy of her life. She loved the country life and raising the farm animals. She also enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers, cooking, baking, and always willing to try a new recipe. She had been a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Seymour Township, where she was active with the ladies society and served as a Sunday school teacher.  

Selma will be dearly missed by her children, Mary and Richard Curler of Eau Claire, June and David Schmidt of Osseo, Henry and Eileen Lane of Cadott; 9 grandchildren, Ryan Curler, Peggy (Brady) Polden, Scott Curler, Eric Curler, Melissa Curler, Sarah Skoyen, David (Sarah) Schmidt, Maria Lane and John Lane; and 9 great grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband Henry, Selma was also preceded in death by her daughter Judy Curler; sister Leona Lane; and Henry’s siblings, Leona Moldenhauer, Margaret Drehmel, Gordon and Reinhold Lane, June Aude, Julia Steinke, Viola Wiese and Carolyn Krumenauer and their spouses.  

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Seymour Township. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church with burial in the church cemetery.
