Barbara Smith
Barbara E. Smith, 66, of rural Augusta, passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2018 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis with her loving husband and her four boys by her side.

Barbara Ellen Smith daughter of Clarence and Ann (Wilbur) Wellsandt was born on May 16, 1952 in Eau Claire. She was raised in rural Stanley Boyd where she went on to graduate from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1970. Barbara was united in marriage to Dennis Smith on Aug. 11, 1973 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington Township, rural Fall Creek. The couple lived all their married life in Ludington Township where they farmed and raised their four sons. Barbara was a wonderful mother and especially enjoyed the opportunity of being a grandmother; her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed visiting with her brothers and sisters, fishing, keeping her house clean, and she took pride in keeping her front yard neatly mowed.

Barbara will be dearly missed by Dennis, her loving husband of 45 years; four sons, Todd and Tina Smith of Oak Creek, Michael and Julie Smith of Altoona, Eric and Lori Smith of Augusta, Alan and Sherry Smith of Farmington, MN; 8 grandchildren, Tyler, Tessa and Trevor Smith, Mason and Morgan Smith, Logan, Carson and Kendall Smith; 3 brothers,Randy and Bennita Wellsandt of Boyd, Ed and Robin Raether,John and Kayte Raether all of Chippewa Falls; 5 sisters, Kathy LaChappelle of Chippewa Falls, Carol and Tim Fetter of Augusta, Tami and Lester Liptak of Cadott, Bonnie and Mike Armstrong of Chippewa Falls, Krissy Poehls of Cornell; mother-in-law, Geneva Smith of Augusta; brothers-in-laws, Jerry and Dorothy Smith of Atlanta, GA, Lawrence Smith of Osseo, Brian Smith of Osseo; sisters-in-law; Judy Steinke of Osseo, Brenda Smith of Augusta; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ann; brother Kenneth “Bub” Wellsandt; father-in-law, Lawrence Smith; brother-in-law, David Steinke; sister-in-law Patricia Noel.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Thursday one hour prior to the services. 

 Burial will be at a later date in the Ludington Township Cemetery
