Rolland Woodford
Rolland L. Woodford, 84, of Augusta, passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday morning, March 21, 2018 at Augusta Health and Rehabilitation.

Rolland was born Oct. 27, 1933 in Pleasant Valley Township, Eau Claire County, the son of John and Esther (Miller) Woodford. After attending rural country school, he worked at the feed mill in Fall Creek. In his late teens he moved to Elgin, Illinois, where he was employed by McGraw-Edison in the Toastmaster Division. While in Elgin, he met Delores Long of Missouri, the love of his life. The happy couple married on Sept. 3, 1955 in Elgin. In April of 1956, Rolland and Delores moved to the Woodford family farm near Fall Creek on County Road D. In 1969 they were given the opportunity to purchase a more productive farm in Ludington Township, north of Augusta. When they retired from farming in 1994 they moved to Augusta. Rolland truly loved the farm life. He kept busy after his retirement by working with his brother Gordon in his carpentry business. Rolland enjoyed the simple pleasures in life such as building bird houses, cutting fire wood, and in later years, working word searches and jigsaw puzzles. He looked forward to family gatherings where there were friendly games of horse shoes, bean bag toss, and cards. Rolland was a very hard working man who did whatever it took to provide for his family.
