Todd Brixen
Todd E. Brixen, 54, of rural Fairchild, passed away suddenly while shoveling snow early Sunday evening, February 24, 2019.
Todd Edward Brixen, son of Edward and Cheryl (Shermo) Brixen was born September 12, 1964 in Osseo. He was raised on the Brixen family farm in Unity Township, rural Strum and was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Strum. Todd attended Eleva Elementary School and graduated from Eleva-Strum High School in 1983. While in high school he enjoyed participating on the football and baseball teams and taking every opportunity to ride snowmobiles. Todd was united in marriage to Teresa (Honadel) Kunshier on September 14, 2002 at Osseo Evangelical Lutheran Church. The couple lived all their married life at their present home in Bridge Creek Township, rural Fairchild. For 28 years Todd was employed at Menard’s Distribution Center and for the past 3 years had worked in the shipping department of Global Finishing Solutions in Osseo. Todd was a very hard worker and always believed in doing the job right the first time and if anyone needed help he was always there to lend a hand.
Todd loved spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed deer hunting with his family on the Brixen family farm and also hunting coyote there and in the Foster area. He was a great pet owner and took the time to give his beloved dogs and cats the attention they needed. More importantly was the time he spent with his family, especially following the boys in all their school and sporting activities, and sitting in front of the televisions watching the Green Bay Packers together. Todd was a “Ford Man” through and through, he absolutely loved the Ford Mustang and was always planning on getting the perfect mustang at some point.
Todd will be dearly missed by his loving wife Teresa; 3 sons, Jacob and Tammy Gregory of Tennessee, Timothy Kunshier and Tyler Brixen both of Fairchild; mother and step father, Sherry and Jim Schmidt of Fairchild; brother, Tony and Jenny Brixen of Osseo; sisters, Tracy Holstad of Strum, Jenny and Bruce Smith of Eleva; step siblings, Ora (Twyla) Schmidt of Eau Claire, Theresa and Randy Peterson of Augusta, Jamie and Rick Brantner of Eau Claire; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Darlene Honadel of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, Mike Honadel of Eau Claire; several nieces and nephews.
Todd was preceded in death by his father Edward on Dec. 6, 1989;twin sons in infancy, Gary and Logan; brother-in-law, Patrick Holstad; and step brother, James Schmidt Jr.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with the funeral service being held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
