Edwina Hanson
Edwina L. Hanson, 67, of rural Augusta, passed away Friday morning, July 19, 2019, at her home in the loving care of her family and St. Joseph’s Hospice. 

Edwina Lee Hanson, daughter of Lloyd and Audrey (Beverage) Owen was born Sept. 2, 1951, in Roswell, New Mexico. She was raised in New Mexico, having lived in Corona, Cloudcroft and Alamogordo. She graduated from Alamogordo High School. In July of 1975, Edwina was baptized as a believer in Christ and was active with Eau Claire Gospel Center. . Edwina was united in marriage to Gerald Hanson on May 18, 1974, in Alamogordo. Together the couple and their family had lived in Springfield, MO, Wilmington, DE, Old Zionsville, PA, Porter, IN, and Prescott, before moving to rural Augusta in 1996. She lovingly aided her husband as he studied and worked in serving the Lord. She cherished the promises of God and was secure in eternal life, and desired the same security for her friends and family. She raised and home schooled 4 sons and was co-founder of their family business, Prompt Action Pest Control, where she  was bookkeeper, scheduler, planner and customer service. She loved sewing clothes for her family and friends. She also loved raising goats, canning, and helping on their small farm in Otter Creek Township, rural Augusta. 

Edwina will be dearly missed by Gerald “Jerry” , her loving husband of 45 years; 4 sons, Shane Hanson, Jared and Alathea Hanson all of Augusta, Stephen and Amanda Hanson of Wausau, Brant and Hannah Hanson of Eau Claire; 10 grandchildren; brother Kenneth Owen of Alamogordo, NM; sister, Gwen (Clarence) Morgan of Okeechobee, FL; several nieces and nephews. 

Edwina was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Audrey; and granddaughter, Olivia Rose Hanson. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Chippewa Falls, with Pastor Curt Laughlin officiating. Burial will be in the East Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. Friends may call 1 hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. The family is assisted by Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
