Warren Honadel
Warren L. Honadel, 39, of Augusta passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday evening, October 31st, 2019. He was treated at Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire and transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN where he was diagnosed with “N.O.R.S.E”. After a courageous fight that lasted two weeks and two days Warren was called home to be with his Lord.

Warren Lawrence Honadel Jr. was born on December 29th, 1979, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, to Warren and Deloris (Kolpien) Honadel. He was raised on a dairy farm in Ludington Township in Eau Claire County. Warren was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ludington and graduated from Cadott High School in 1998. Following graduation, he attended Barron Community College and later graduated from the CVTC’s Lineman program. While at CVTC he held part time employment in the hunting department at Scheels, where he enjoyed talking with customers and using the employee discount to purchase the newest hunting gear. For several years Warren was employed by Push Inc., of Rice Lake, WI, followed by the Eau Claire County Highway Department, and Stensen Excavation. Since December 2018 Warren was employed by the City of Augusta

Warren and future wife, Brittany, met through her sister Lexi and his best friend Dennis in 2006 and began dating much to their surprise. Many of the beginning years were spent on the phone getting to know each other while Warren traveled out of state for his job and squeezing in as much time together as possible when he was back in town. After five years Warren finally proposed in front of the cow yard due to Brittany threatening to propose to him if he didn’t by the end of the year.

Warren was united in marriage to Brittany Dickinsen on October 8th, 2011, at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, where they were both members. Following their marriage, they settled into the Honadel family farm where they began to build their lives together and had two blonde haired, blue eyed boys that resembled their father. Following the passing of his father, Warren rekindled his interest in agriculture and starting crop farming. As a wedding gift they received a Shorthorn heifer, which started their cattle herd. Warren was an easy-going, supportive husband who loved his wife and stood next to her during life’s journey. Ty will remember best the tractor and 4-wheeler rides with his dad, feeding the steers, the campfires and a Dad who could fix anything. “Mommy buy it, Daddy fix it.” Friends and family will help remind them of a Dad who always had time and love for his boys and couldn’t wait until they were old enough to hunt, fish and farm with him. Warren was also very close to his nieces and always made time them, whether it was picking them up from school, helping to tuck them in for a sleepover or frosting cookies.

Warren always had something to do, a place to go or someone he wanted to talk with. Whenever out he would run in to a familiar face or strike up a conversation with someone new, his warm personality made it easy to befriend him. When he found time, he enjoyed playing basketball and always looked forward to playing in the Annual Cadott Alumni Tournament. He also went fishing in Canada with family and friends, reserved opening fishing morning for his mom, deer hunted locally and took a yearly hunting trip to Kansas with Dennis and friends. More than anything Warren valued time spent with family and especially his wife and two little boys.

Warren will be deeply missed by so many, especially his wife Brittany and their sons Ty Lawrence age 2 ½, and Coy Asher 4 months, Mother: Deloris Honadel, Half-brothers: David Markham (Julie Hitz), Brian Markham, and Nephews: Jeffrey, Shane, Kayden, Brandon, Jordan Markham and Jamie, Godparents: Jerry and Lois Kolpien, Father and Mother In Law: Brent and Debbie Dickinsen of Augusta; Sister and Brother in Law: Lexi and Dennis Bergman, and their daughters, Sophie and Hadley; Grandmothers, Jeanine Dickinsen and Bernice Strauch. Warren was preceded in death by his father on August 3rd, 2009; his brother-in-law Brady Dickinsen on January 26th, 2008; grandparents, John and Gladys Kolpien, Lawrence and Alice Honadel; Uncle Bruce (Sandy) Honadel; and aunts, Betty Scofield and Sue Hera.

A visitation will be held Friday, November 8th, 2019, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Augusta, and from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 9th at the church followed by the funeral services at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Wessel officiating.

Burial will be in the West Lawn Cemetery in Augusta. The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
