Dennis F. Luedtke, 61, of rural Augusta, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep early Wednesday morning, April 10, 2019.
Dennis Frank Luedtke was born at home in Ludington Township of Eau Claire County on January 30, 1958. He was the 4th. of 9 children born to Arlo and Cora (LaRose) Luedtke. Dennis was raised in Ludington and attended Augusta Elementary School and graduated from Augusta High School in 1976. During high school Dennis worked at Lampert Yards in Augusta, and on weekends for a few years after that. At the age of 18 he started his employment with the Augusta Area Nursing Home, where he worked as the head of maintenance for 38 years. Dennis had also worked at M.R.S. in Augusta for a few years. Dennis was united in marriage to Karen Grindle on Aug. 4, 1979 at the Church of the Brethren in Stanley. The couple raised their 2 children and lived all of their married life just north of Augusta in Bridge Creek Township. A very favorite pastime for Dennis was fishing. He enjoyed fishing below the dam on Lake Eau Claire for walleyes and trout fishing in the Osseo Beef River.
Dennis was blessed with 6 grandchildren that he truly enjoyed taking care of and spending as much time as possible with.Dennis will be dearly missed by his wife Karen; son, Jesse and Kristi Luedtke of rural Augusta; daughter, Kami and Matt Leiterman of Fall Creek; 6 grandchildren, Austin, Everett, Brynn and Aubree Luedtke, Brielle and Kyle Leiterman; 6 brothers, Jack and Sharmay Luedtke of Kiel; Arlo and Ary Luedtke, Daniel and Diane Luedtke all of Augusta, Vern and Wendy Luedtke of Fall Creek, Pat and Sandy Luedtke of Osakis, MN, Warren Luedtke of Greenwood; sister, Eileen and Henry Lane of Cadott; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father Arlo on Feb. 26, 1975; mother Cora Luedtke Nelson of June 14, 2012; granddaughter Grace Leiterman on April 7, 2014; brother John “Beef” Luedtke on April 8, 2010; and nephew Adam Luedtke on Sept. 2, 2016.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
A memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Carlton Kangas officiating.
