Richard Curler, 75, of Eau Claire, WI, was called home to Jesus on Sunday, September 13th, 2020. He passed away at Pinehurst Lutheran Church while opening and preparing the church for Sunday service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley Curler; and his brother Mike Curler.He is survived by Mary, his wife of 52 years; 3 sons Ryan Curler, Scott Curler and Eric Curler all of Eau Claire; 2 daughters, Peggy (Brady) Polden of Blaine, MN, and Melissa Curler of Fort Collins, CO; by three grandchildren, Allie, Davis, and Evan Polden; brother Tom Curler of Granton; sisters, Kathy Wibel and Sandy (Rory) Fye both of Fall Creek. Richard Carl Curler was born December 11, 1944, in Fall Creek, WI, son of John and Shirley (Stei) Curler. He was raised north of Fall Creek, attended country school and graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1963. Richard was baptized and confirmed Lutheran. On August 10, 1968, he was united in marriage to Mary Jean Lane at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. Richard worked 35 years for the Chicago Northwestern railroad, which eventually became Union Pacific railroad. In 2005, at the age of 60 he retired from the railroad and then worked an additional 12 years worked at JN Foodmart in Eau Claire. He was an active member of Pinehurst Lutheran Church and served on the church council for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed the outdoors and his time out on the lake fishing.
The service is scheduled for 11am on September 18th at Pinehurst Lutheran Church, 3304 Fern Ct, Eau Claire, WI 54703. Pastor Paul Sullivan will officiate.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 10-11am.
